  • Now, you will have to create the portable file and save it in the local C Drive. 
  • Close the Company File and get the portable file restored by saving it to the server.
  • Once you are done with this, choose the Company File and open it from the server. 

Solution 2: Resolve Error 6177 Manually

  • Close all program files, before starting this process. 
  • delete automatically generated Network Descriptor file. 
  • Now, open the specific folder that comprises the Company File and search for the file that have .ND extension. 
  • Right-click the file and click to delete the same.
  • Arrange the QuickBooks Database Manager and follow the guidelines to check whether you have permission to access the file or not. 
  1. Visit the Setup folder permissions web page and ensure that permissions are set accurately for sharing the files. 
  2. If you want to set permissions for QB, then get all options cleared and select QuickBooks.
